We developed a travel app centered around activity-based travel, helping users plan trips based on their interests and the experiences they want to have.

Role and Responsibilities
My role focused on research, ideation and translating findings into product structure. I helped identify gaps in our research, synthesize insights and turn them into an information architecture. This provided the foundation for our first user flows and helped us define the product requirements more clearly.
Problem Statement and Goals
Our research revealed a fragmented planning experience: travelers move between multiple platforms to compare costs, find relevant activities and assess practical factors such as weather and local recommendations.
Our goal was to reduce this fragmentation by creating a more focused planning experience centered around users’ interests, while bringing relevant trip information into one place.

Managing a travel budget is overwhelming.

Our goal was to reduce this fragmentation by creating a more focused planning experience centered around users’ interests, while bringing relevant trip information into one place.

Design Process and Methodology
We started with exploratory user research to understand how people plan trips, where friction occurs and what they need throughout the process. Interviews helped us uncover individual behaviors, goals and pain points, while surveys allowed us to validate recurring patterns across a broader group.
We synthesized these findings into personas, user journeys and user stories. Rather than treating these as isolated deliverables, we used them to identify priorities and translate research insights into the first structure of the product.

Key Challenges and Solutions
One of the key challenges we identified was decision fatigue caused by information overload. Competitor products often present users with a large number of options, making it harder to quickly find relevant activities.
Instead of adding more choice, we focused on helping users narrow it down. Relevant filters and search controls were introduced at key moments in the journey, allowing users to refine results based on their interests and needs.

Outcomes and Learnings
Further iteration revealed important gaps in our initial user flow. Revisiting these moments helped us refine the journey, reduce friction and create a more coherent experience.
The process showed me how research, structure and iteration continuously inform each other, rather than functioning as separate stages of the design process.
